What does the
free phone call involve?
We offer a 15 minute phone call or video meeting free of charge to
anybody who is considering a consultation and therapy. We
understand you may have some questions and thoughts about the
process before a psychological consultation, so this phone call
allows us to briefly discuss some of your key concerns.
Who are you
registered with?
All therapists hold appropriate registration with the relevant
body (HCPC, BABCP, BACP), and this is a requirement to work in the
clinic.
How long does
each therapy session take?
Each session lasts 50 minutes and is held on the same day and time
each week. For some therapies, like EMDR, a longer session may be
required and this will be discussed with you in advance.
What type of
therapy should I look for?
The answer is a combination of personal preference, knowledge, and
professional advice. You can discuss this with your therapist in
the consultation session. Within the clinic, we have specialities
in many evidence-based therapies including CBT, ACT, EMDR, and
psychodynamic psychotherapy.
What if we feel
it was not a good fit?
This can be discussed in the consultation session, and your
therapist will provide you with a range of alternatives if you
feel you were not suited to work together.
What if I have
to miss a session?
Charges apply for all last-minute cancellations or missed
sessions. This is because your slot is reserved for you by the
therapist and we cannot book another client into this place if you
cancel without notice. We require 7 days notice if you want to
cancel a session. For example, you would typically tell your
therapist in the session that you cannot attend the following
week. If you are engaging in longer-term work then holidays and
breaks will be discussed with your therapist.
Can I pay
through my insurance company?
Yes, all of our therapists are registered providers with AXA,
Aviva, and Cigna. Please mention this in your initial contact.
